For the 15 th week in a row child COVID-19 cases are above 100,000. Child cases have declined since a peak of 252,000 the week of September 2 nd, but COVID cases among children remain extremely high. This week nearly 142,000 child cases were added, an increase of about 32% from two weeks ago. The definition of “child” case is based on varying age ranges reported across states (see report Appendix for details and links to all data sources).Īs of November 18, almost 6.8 million children have tested positive for COVID-19 since the onset of the pandemic. The American Academy of Pediatrics and the Children’s Hospital Association are collaborating to collect and share all publicly available data from states on child COVID-19 cases. State-level reports are the best publicly available and timely data on child COVID-19 cases in the United States. Note: Due to Thanksgiving, the 11/25 report will be posted on Tuesday, 11/30.
